What makes any activity harmful to our well-being? It is not the activity itself. Whether it is an everyday activity such as walking, sitting or standing to activities which require specific specialized motor skills, activities are neither "good" or "bad" - they just "are". Rather, it is the quality in which we use ourselves in relation to the activity that either benefits us or harms us.

The Alexander Technique teaches you how to improve the quality of "being" by becoming aware of, and then changing, faulty postural and movement habits and by correcting deeply-rooted tension patterns that cause stress, impede proper functioning and ease of movement, and impair psycho-physical well-being.
